Overview
A Cancellation Fee ONLY applies if you violate the Bidbus Seller Terms & Platform Rules, such as backing out after accepting a valid offer or misrepresenting the vehicle's condition.
If a violation occurs, the Cancellation Fee is equivalent to your standard Seller's Fee, which is based on the final winning bid:
For vehicles sold under $30,000: The Cancellation Fee is a flat $300.
For vehicles sold for $30,000 or more: The Cancellation Fee is 1% of the final sale price (e.g., a $52,000 sale incurs a $520 fee).
Why this matters Bidbus is built on two-way trust:
Sellers must honor their commitment once an offer is accepted.
Dealers must also honor their winning bids.
This fairness ensures both sides take the auction seriously and that every offer you see is real and reliable.
What happens if a dealer backs out
If a dealer fails to honor their winning bid without a valid reason, they are penalized too. As a seller, you are protected by our Seller Guarantee and may be eligible for compensation up to a maximum of $500 for the failed transaction.
What counts as valid reasons for a dealer
Dealers may withdraw only if material, undisclosed issues are identified during inspection that substantially affect the vehicle's safety or value, such as:
Moderate or major accident damage not previously disclosed
Significant mechanical or electrical malfunctions
Severely worn, unsafe, or mismatched tires
Structural, flood, or fire damage
In short
If you back out after accepting an offer or misrepresent your vehicle, a Cancellation Fee equivalent to your standard Seller's Fee ($300 or 1%) applies. The same rules protect you—if a dealer breaks the agreement without valid cause, you may receive up to $500 in compensation.
