Reach competing dealers without visiting multiple stores
Build one listing and let dealers bid online. This reduces repeated appraisals and negotiations across a state where the next dealership may be many miles away.
Online car selling across Texas
Start with your Texas plate, VIN, or vehicle details. Then let verified dealers compete for your car in a live online auction that runs for about two hours.
One listing reaches a network of 1,000+ professional dealers. Losing dealers do not receive your phone number or email.
Texas selling process
Bidbus turns one Texas vehicle listing into a live dealer auction. The final handoff is a dealer transaction, so the steps include Texas title, plate and transfer-notification requirements.
Enter your Texas plate, VIN, or year, make and model. Confirm where the vehicle is located so the auction can reach dealers able to complete a handoff in your part of the state.
Add current mileage, condition, options and clear photos. Disclose damage before bidding starts. Review any existing offer and recent results for similar vehicles, then approve the lowest price you are prepared to accept.
Professional dealers bid against one another in a live online auction. Your contact details stay private from dealers that do not win. You can watch the highest bid develop instead of negotiating with stores one by one.
TxDMV advises the seller to submit a Vehicle Transfer Notification within 30 days, including when the buyer is a dealer. The winning dealer completes its dealer-side title and registration work; the seller should file the VTN, save the receipt, and retain the sale and odometer records.
Why Texas sellers choose Bidbus
A direct offer tells you what one buyer will pay. Bidbus creates a live market for the same vehicle, so professional dealers compete on price while you keep a confirmed minimum.
Build one listing and let dealers bid online. This reduces repeated appraisals and negotiations across a state where the next dealership may be many miles away.
You approve the minimum before bidding begins. If the auction finishes below it, you may walk away without a Bidbus fee. If a bid reaches it, the transaction is binding.
Dealers that do not win do not receive your phone number or email. Information is shared only as needed to complete a qualifying sale with the winning dealer.
Looking up the vehicle, creating the listing and running the auction have no upfront Bidbus fee. A completed sale carries a 1% seller fee with a $300 minimum.
Verified platform-wide results
These are the 5 newest records in the latest 100 publicly available Bidbus auction results, covering 2026-10-19 through 2026-10-21. Each row links to its public result page. Bidbus does not expose seller city or state in these records, so the table is platform-wide comparison data and is not presented as sales from Texas.
| Vehicle | Mileage | Winning bid | Dealer bids | Bidbus fee | Estimated net after published Bidbus fee | Sold date |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2018 Dodge Challenger | 57,384 mi | $14,700 | 31 | $300 | $14,400 | |
| 2025 Toyota Sienna | 8,900 mi | $54,200 | 32 | $542 | $53,658 | |
| 2025 Chevrolet Suburban | 20,448 mi | $63,600 | 41 | $636 | $62,964 | |
| 2015 Toyota Tacoma | 72,774 mi | $18,000 | 15 | $300 | $17,700 | |
| 2020 Jeep Cherokee | 105,224 mi | $7,400 | 12 | $300 | $7,100 |
The fee and estimated-net columns apply Bidbus's published 1% success fee with a $300 minimum to the public winning bid. The result page does not publish the seller's actual payout, lender payoff, or other transaction adjustments, so the net figure is a calculation rather than an observed payment.
Latest public Bidbus result mix
This ranking counts make-and-model combinations in the latest 100 public results dated 2026-10-19 through 2026-10-21. It is a platform-wide snapshot, not a Texas sales ranking, because the public records do not disclose seller location.
Counts, prices, and bid levels describe only this captured result window. They can change as new auctions publish and do not predict demand for a specific Texas vehicle.
Texas seller checklist
Price is only one part of a clean vehicle sale. Prepare the title or payoff, confirm county-specific emissions rules and agree on the dealer handoff before the winning bid reaches your minimum.
If you own the vehicle outright, locate the original title and check which named owners must sign. If the car is financed, request a current payoff quote and lender instructions. Tell the winning dealer about the lien before handoff. The dealer and lender determine the payoff, title-release and payment timeline.
Compare recent results for the same model, trim and model year, then adjust for mileage, condition, accident history and title status. Dealer demand can differ among Dallas–Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, West Texas and Gulf Coast markets. Your minimum must be a price you will honor if the auction reaches it.
Useful result pages include Toyota Tundra, Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Ram 1500, Tesla Model Y and Tesla Model 3.
Clean the car, remove personal items and photograph every side in daylight. Include the odometer, dashboard, tires, interior, keys and all visible damage. Texas hail, flood, storm or heat-related damage must be disclosed when applicable. Accurate photos reduce inspection disputes and give dealers confidence to bid.
Texas does not have California's statewide seller smog-certificate requirement. Noncommercial vehicles registered in designated emissions counties still need emissions testing for registration, and commercial vehicles remain subject to commercial inspection rules. Requirements can change, so check the Texas vehicle inspection program and confirm any dealer requirement before handoff.
Before moving the vehicle, confirm the dealer address, appointment time, required documents, inspection process and payment method. Ask whether pickup is available; it depends on the dealer and should not be assumed. Texas sellers may choose to remove the license plates and registration sticker at the sale. Removed plates may be transferred to another vehicle of the same classification, kept for future transfer, or defaced and disposed of; the registration sticker does not transfer. Follow current TxDMV instructions.
File the Texas Vehicle Transfer Notification within 30 days of the sale, even when the buyer is a dealer. Save the TxDMV receipt together with the signed sale record and odometer disclosure. TxDMV vehicle-sale guidance

“Bidbus let me sell my car at a price higher than KBB, Carmax and most other places and in no time. The process was easy to follow and I was able to do everything using my phone. Once my car was sold, all I had to do was take it to the dealer with the documentation and settle up the difference with the dealer. Highly recommend using bidbus for selling your car”

“First time put my car online bidding. Did online quote by CarM** and drive**y which gave my 2018 Elite odyssey 15000-15500. Bidbus recommendation is 17000 minimum selling price and I got much better bidding price 17900! They charged me 300 service fee after successfully bidding and it really worth trying. Only thing is I have to deliver my car to dealer. Since I disclosed everything any scratch and minor problems so the buyer dealer paid me exactly what they bid 17900 via overnight FedEx.”

Texas seller FAQ
Prepare the Texas title or applicable replacement-title documents, government-issued identification, current odometer reading, lienholder payoff instructions if financed, all available keys, and the sale record requested by the winning dealer. After handoff, submit the Vehicle Transfer Notification within 30 days and keep its receipt with the signed sale and odometer records. TxDMV vehicle-sale guidance
A financed vehicle may be eligible. Request a current payoff quote and lender instructions before the auction. The winning dealer will confirm how the payoff, title release and any remaining equity or shortfall will be handled. Timing and payment method vary by dealer and lender.
Texas does not use a statewide seller smog-certificate rule like California. Emissions testing still applies to noncommercial vehicles registered in designated emissions counties, while commercial vehicles remain subject to commercial inspection requirements. Check your county and vehicle with TxDMV or the Texas Department of Public Safety, then confirm the handoff requirements with the winning dealer.
The seller should submit the Vehicle Transfer Notification within 30 days, even when the buyer is a dealer. Dealer-side title and registration work does not replace this seller-protection step; retain the electronic receipt with the completed sale documents. TxDMV vehicle-sale guidance
Texas sellers may choose to remove the license plates and registration sticker at the sale. Removed plates may be transferred to another vehicle of the same classification, kept for future transfer, or defaced and disposed of; the registration sticker does not transfer. Confirm the handoff with the winning dealer and follow current TxDMV instructions.
If bidding ends below the minimum selling price you confirmed, you may walk away without a Bidbus fee. If the winning bid meets or exceeds your confirmed minimum, the transaction is binding under the Seller Terms, so set a price you are prepared to honor.
There is no upfront fee to start, build the listing or run the auction. If the vehicle sells, the Bidbus seller fee is 1% of the sale price with a $300 minimum. If bidding finishes below your confirmed minimum and no sale occurs, there is no Bidbus seller fee.
The winning dealer sets the inspection and handoff arrangements. Before traveling, confirm the dealer location, appointment time, documents, payment method and whether pickup is available. Payment timing and method vary by dealer, and financed vehicles may take longer because the lender payoff must clear.
A plate or VIN lookup takes only a few minutes, and you can finish the listing after adding condition details and current photos. The live dealer auction runs for about two hours. Handoff and payment timing depend on the winning dealer, inspection, title status and any lender payoff.
Bidbus is an online auction marketplace, not the vehicle buyer. The winning qualifying dealer purchases the vehicle. Dealers that do not win do not receive your phone number or email; information is shared as needed to complete a qualifying transaction with the winning dealer.
